Susan E. Anzicek

Susan E. Anzicek, mezzo-soprano started singing at age 15 and studied privately with Leona Witter from Michigan State University. She went on to Western Michigan University and received an Applied Vocal Major in Performing Arts degree. She played Dorabella in the opera Cosi Fan Tuti while at Western. She has sung with numerous church choirs over the years, the last one being at University United Methodist Church in East Lansing under the direction of Mary Alice Stollak, who founded The Michigan State University Children’s Choir (MSUCC), a Grammy Award-winning children’s choir. Susan is a professional vocalist who has sung for many wedding ceremonies, memorial services and as a church soloist.

She has been honored to sing the National Anthem for over 40 years for Cooley Law School graduation ceremony, Big Ten basketball games for Michigan State University, and for eleven times for the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. “I am so proud to sing for the Detroit Tigers … one of the highlights of my life!” she stated.  “Every time I sing, they win!”

“I really enjoy singing as it brings me such a sense of spirituality. I was given a gift from God and feel grateful to be able to bring joy, spirit and comfort to others through my singing.”

Here is a photo of Susan singing the National Anthem for WMU Cooley Law School graduation at the Wharton Center.  She has sung for them at the Breslin Center in East Lansing as well.  Currently, she is in her 43rd year singing for WMU Cooley Law graduations.

In 2025, Susan will be performing at various retirement communities, 40-60’s musical numbers, Broadway musical sing-a-longs, and Christmas carols for the holidays.
